The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam) was asked: How does Allaah give life to the dead, and what is the sign of that in His creation? The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: Have you not passed by your family's barren river? The man said: Yes. He said: And then you passed by it being full of life and green? The man said: Yes. The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: He[Allaah] also gives life to the dead, and that is His sign in His creation. [Related by Ahmad, Abu Daawood, and Ibn Maajah. Al-'Allaamah Ibn Abil 'Izz al-Hanafee said: The Creator who brought into being, the heavens, and the earth, with all their majesty, and unimaginable vastness, and magnificence, is most surely able to resurrect the dead with ease, and return them to their original state.
