Questions issued from some of the Salafee youth in Toronto, Canada to the Scholar of Arabia, al-‘Allaamah Zayd Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee. The tele-link happened recently (2002) at the Da’wah centre in Toronto.
Q1: The first question is in regards to the disgusting error of Afraaz Baksh in which he stated, “Let’s look at Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Hanbal... We revere him and we defend him; he is the Imaam of Ahlus-Sunnah but how many times you can prove him, I am not to prove him, the ‘Ulamaa can prove him, that he (Imaam Ahmad) has went away from Ahlus-Sunnah in aspects of ‘Aqeedah.” (Note: this is a direct audible quote from Baksh himself, the grammatical errors belong to him.)
Q2: We have individuals amongst us who are greater than us in age and (general) knowledge. They are calling to clear innovation such as takfeer upon the rulers, al-muwaazinaat and attacking the major scholars. We do not declare them innovators but we refute there well known innovations. Some of the people prohibit refutation except after calling the major scholars first. Is it permissible for us to warn against their well known innovations before calling the Scholars?
Q3: A question in regards to the helper of Adnaan 'Ar`oor, Saalih al-Munajjid, Ja’amatut-Tableegh and a multitude of other opponents of the Salafee Da’wah. The (one-time) Imaam of the hizbee masjid (Khalid Ibnul-Waleed), Basheer Yusuf Shill stated, “The Refutation of so and so, the refutation of so and so, the refutation of so and so, this takes one away from the religion of Allaah.” Al-‘Allaamah Zayd al-Madkhalee responds to this erroneous blunder issued by the supposed ‘Scholar’ of Canada.
Q4: Some people to whom Salafiyyah is attributed say that it is not permissible for us to call the major scholars. They are very busy and they do not have the time to answer the questions of the Salafiyyeen in Canada and America. Is this true Shaykh?
