Upon entering Islaam it is fundamental for one to become grounded in the founding principles of the Religion, in order to be free from innovation and misguidance.
The Prophet of Islaam, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three things, whoever attains them will find the sweetness of faith: when Allaah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than everything else; when he loves another person he loves him only for the sake of Allaah; and when he hates to return to disbelief (kufr) as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire.” [Reported by al-Bukhaaree (no. 15)]
Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee says: And indeed Allaah the - Blessed and the Exalted - created the Jinn and the Mankind with great Wisdom. Is it not for the purpose of worshipping Him - the Perfect and Exalted - and nothing else besides him? It is as Allaah - the Blessed and the Exalted - has said, "And I did not create the Jinn and mankind, except to worship Me." [Sooratudh Dhaariyaat: 65] And the meaning of, "to worship Me" is 'to single Me out in worship" [Mudhkiratun fil 'Aqeedah (p. 8)]

An instrumental question and answer session for Muslims, new and and old. Shaykh Muhammad al-Anjaree establishes some of the usoolud-deen as well as fielding commonly asked questions. A good reference point for introductory Islaamic education. The lecture is a fine audio compliment to the superb question and answer essay: Take Your Creed from The Book and The Authenticated Sunnah by Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Jameel Zaynoo.
