The Difference between Affilating Oneself to the Book and the Sunnah and Acting Upon Them & The Reality of Salafiyyah - Excerpted from the upcoming 2nd Edition of 'The Sacred Salafee Methodology: An Islaamic Manual of Reform'
By Imaam Muhammad Naasirud-Deen al-Albaanee [d. 1420H]

As for those whom we have pointed out at the outset of this speech from the Salafiyyeen and other than them from amongst those who adhere to their mode of conduct, and they could be referred to by other than this name, then these ones differ from all of the other Islaamic groups because they hold onto something else.  This something else is: safety from going against the Book and the Sunnah in the name of the Book and the Sunnah.  Indeed, that is due to holding onto what the Companions of the Prophet from the emigrants (muhaajiroon) and the helpers (ansaar) and those who followed them from the taabi’een and the taabi’ taabi’een.  Indeed, they are the generations for whom goodness was witnessed in the authentic hadeeth.  Rather, it is a mutawaatir (concurrent) hadeeth in which the Messenger of Allaah said, “The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them.”

What did the Prophet Do? An Evaluation of the "Islamic Basis" on Female-Led Prayer A response to Nevin Reda's article: What Would the Prophet Do? about Muslim women leading prayers  Researched and Prepared by Ali Yahya
On March 18, 2005, for perhaps the first time in the history of Islam, a woman delivered a khutbah and led a mixed congregation in Jumu'ah prayers. Although this action was clearly at variance with Islamic teachings and the consensus of the Muslim Ummah, attempts have been made to legitimize it. The most notable of these is a piece by Nevin Reda, available on the Internet. Sadly, Nevin Reda's arguments have convinced a number of Muslims of the admissibility, or even desirability, of such prayers. This essay is a response to those arguments.

Chosen Gems from the Fataawaa of Imaam Muhammad Ibn 'Abdul-Wahhaab at-Tameemee
’The people of knowledge from the salaf have mentioned the various types of actions people can do without being aware of the true meaning of their actions. An example of this would be good deeds that many people do, such as giving charity, maintaining family ties, being kind to people and so forth. Likewise, avoiding the oppression of others, or not speaking ill about them, all of which a person can do sincerely for Allaah’s sake, however without yearning for His reward in the next life. Rather all he hopes for is that Allaah will protect his wealth and his family, or cause it (his wealth) to increase, or make his name be remembered forever and so on.

Points of Benefit that Relate to the Ahaadeeth of the Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) By Shaykh 'Abdul-'Azeez ar-Raajihee
The four sunan (Aboo Daawood, At-Tirmidhee, An-Nasaa’ee, and Ibn Majah), the musnad of Imaam Ahmad, and the sunan of Ad-Daarimee, all contain ahaadeeth that are saheeh (authentic), hasan (good), and da’eef (weak). For they did not make it a condition for their books to contain only the ahaadeeth that are saheeh as Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim did. Rather, their intent was to gather all the ahaadeeth as they relate to a particular matter. Similarly are those other such the musnad of At-Taylasee and the three ma’ajim of At-Tabaraanee. As for the muwatta of Imaam Maalik, it contains ahaadeeth that are saheeh, hasan, and da’eef

01.09.04  Clinging to the Deen in Times of Fitnah
By al-'Allaamah 'Ubayd Ibn 'Abdullaah al-Jaabiree

A grand reminder from one of the scholars of al-Madeenah, to cling firmly to the ahlus-sunnah in these times of fitnah. It has been narrated on the authority of Hudhayfah Ibnul-Yaman who said: People used to ask the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) about the good times, but I used to ask him about bad times fearing lest they overtake me. I said: Messenger of Allaah, we were in the midst of ignorance and evil, and then Allaah brought us this good (time through Islam). Is there any bad time after this good one? He said: Yes. I asked: Will there be a good time again after that bad time? He said: Yes, but therein will be a hidden evil. I asked: What will be the evil hidden therein? He said: (That time will witness the rise of) the people who will adopt ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know good points as well as bad points. I asked: Will there be a bad time after this good one? He said: Yes. (A time will come) when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whosoever responds to their call they will throw them into the fire. I said: Messenger of Allaah, describe them for us. He said: All right. They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language. I said: Messenger of Allaah, what do you suggest if I happen to live in that time? He said: You should stick to the main body of the Muslims and their leader. I said: If they have no (such thing as the) main body and have no leader? He said: Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state.

19.08.04  The Ruling Upon a Rented Building Being a Masjid and Praying Tahiyatul-Masjid In It
By al-'Allaaamah Muhammad Ibn 'Abdul-Wahhaab al-Bannaa

[Q]: Here in the West, we live in cities where there are no salafee masaajid. Al-hamdulilah, the salafee brothers are gathered there to use a facility as a masjid, some of them have lease terms for many years. In the masjid, the salawaat (prayers) are established five times a day, salaatul-jumu'ah and a designated Imaam (is present). Unfortunately, some of our brothers say that this facility is not considered a masjid because the building is not owned by the Muslims, and as such, they do not make tahiyatul-masjid (the two-unit prayer of greeting the masjid) and they pray the jumu'ah prayers with others who are not salafees (since they don't consider this building to be a masjid).
