Virtues of Reciting Particular Parts of the Qur'aan Print E-mail

A fitting encouragement to have oneself recite the Book of Allaah for various benefits.
 
To deny for Allaah everything which He has denied for Himself in His Book, or which His Messenger denied for Him; along with believing that its fully-perfect opposite is confirmed for Allaah - the Most High.

  1. Aboo Umaamah (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites Aayatul Kursee following every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except dying."

  2. Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites the last two verses of Sooratul-Baqarah in a night, they will suffice him."


  3. Anas (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recited: (Qul Yaa ayyuhal-Kaaafiroon) it will be equal to a quarter of the Qur’aan for him, and whoever recites (Qul huwallaahu Ahad) it will be equal to a third of the Qur’aan for him."


  4. Ibn ‘Imraan (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites the Qur’aan then let him ask from Allaah by it, for there will come a people who recite the Qur’aan and will the ask from people by it."


  5. Tameem ad-Daaree (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites (in prayer) with a hundred verses in a night, it will be written for him as devout obedience to Allaah for the night."


  6. ‘Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites one letter from the Book of Allaah then he will receive a good reward, and every good deed is rewarded with ten times its like. I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is one word but Alif is one word, Laam is one word and Meem is one word."


  7. Aboo Sa’eed (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites Sooratul-Kahf on the Day of Jumu’ah, light will be made to shine for him between the two Jumu’ahs (that Jumu’ah and the one following it)."


  8. Mu’aadh Ibn Anas (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites (Qul huwallaahu Ahad) ten times, Allaah will build for him a house in Paradise."


  9. ‘Ubayy (radiyallaahu ’anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever recites (Qul huwallaahu Ahad), it is as if he has recited one third of the Qur‘aan."
