Allāh Loves for You Three Things and Hates for You Three Things
A khuṭbah reviewing a wonderful ḥadīth mentioning three important things to gain Allāh’s pleasure and three things to abandon in order to avoid Allāh’s displeasure.
The Messenger (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said,
“Verily Allāh loves three things for you and he hates three things for you. He loves that you worship Him alone, and that you do not join anyone else in your worship of him and that you do not worship other than him, He loves that you hold tight altogether to the rope of Allāh and that you do not be divided….
And Allāh hates for you hearsay (he said and she said – qīla wa qāl – spreading rumours), he hates for you excessive questioning (questioning that brings about no benefit), thirdly, he hates for you the wasting of money.”
The 1st part of the khuṭbah discusses the three issues which Allāh loves.
The 2nd part of the khuṭbah focuses on the three things that Allāh hates, giving attention to qīla wa qāl (he said, she said and the contribution thereof), rumour mongering, excessive questioning/criticising especially in relation to the Scholars and their status. The speaker ends off highlighting the importance of not wasting money, especially by donating to organisations and causes which divide the Ummah and aid partisanship and fight unity upon the book and the sunnah.
