Benefit: How to Ask Questions about the Religion - Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Suḥaymī
In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy
From the main reasons for deviation from the Straight Path is the asking of unnecessary and fruitless questions. A prime example of this is found in the famous narration of the man who came to Imām Mālik asking about the istiwá of Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic. Imām Mālik, raḥimahullāh, banished the man from his gathering due to that innovated quesion. Likewise, in this time of ours, some Muslims are so eager to know the wisdom, reason, and modality of every affair of Islām. Often, they present such questions to the scholars and students of knowledge. Our Shaykh, Ṣāliḥ al-Suḥaym
ī, advises some brothers on the correct method in asking questions. So listen to this short benefit. May Allāh make you firm on His Straight Path.
