Benefit: The Modesty of ʿĀʾishah

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

From the most admirable examples of modesty is that of the Mother of the Believers ʿĀʾishah (raḍī Allāhu ʿanhā).

There comes in the Musnad (of Imām Aḥmad) where she says:

I use to enter my house—where the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and my father were buried—and remove my garments saying (to myself) it was just my husband and my father. When ʿUmar was buried along with them, I swear by Allāh, I have not entered except that my garments were wrapped around me due to my shyness from ʿUmar.
