Benefit: The Clear Text from the Book and the Sunnah Always Takes Precedence

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī (حفظه الله) said: “Ahl al-Sunnah only employ qiyās [i.e. analogical deduction] and ijtihād [i.e. exerting one’s self to come to a verdict in a matter that is either devoid of explicit text or the text is ambiguous] when there is no [explicit or clear] textual evidence.”

Benefit: The Creed of Ahl al-Sunnah Was Known Well Before the Emergence of the Four Imāms

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned:

The creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah is an ancient creed which was known well before Allāh created Abū Hanīfah, Mālik, al-Shāfiʿī and Aḥmad. It was the creed of the Companions who received it from their Prophet. Therefore, whoever opposes this creed is considered an innovator with Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah.
