Be from Ahl al-Sunnah...and with the Jamāʿah

Shaykh Ḥasan ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Banná́

A telelink conducted with the noble Shaykh, Ḥasan ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Banná́ al-Miṣrī (2015/03/28) encouraging the listeners to not just ascribe to the Sunnah but to be with the People of Sunnah, a path towards salvation. The lecture was part of the Points of Benefit from Sharḥ al-Sunnah, the Outstanding Book of Imām al-Barbahārī seminar.

Benefit: Ahl al-Sunnah Are Not Harmed by Those Who Oppose Them!!

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

An important benefit from the khuṭbah at TROID (Masjid al-Furqān) entitled: The Evils of Plotting and Disunity. The noble speaker, Abū Khadījah states:

“They were once with us, in this masjid (TROID), next to us, praying with us, that (you would feel) we are united, (upon) the haqq, we will spread the daʿwah together, you pray with him, year in, year out, then a time comes, that that same individual disappears from your presence, you don’t see him again, then you realise that he is plotting against the same people that he was praying next to, foot to foot, heel to heel, fighting against them, warning against them, gathering the people against them…to harm who? The people you’ve been commanded to unite with!!! but الحمد لله ‘they are not harmed by those who oppose them or differ with them or abandon them!!’”

“We should know what unites us and what divides us…don’t allow individuals to come into your ranks that they were once with you then they divided from you and then they try to recruit you to divide the ranks of the people of Sunnah…do not allow that!”

“The haqq is one, the people (of haqq) are united, they are the ones who connect you to the scholars…they love the Sunnah…they will not compromise the Sunnah…do not sell your religion (short).”

“Do not open your hearts to argumentation, it leads a person to change his religion.”

“Do not deceive yourselves for you will only harm yourself.”

“May Allāh preserve and protect our communities, from the people of deviation, from the people of bidʿah, from those individuals who come upon our ranks to cause confusion and splitting amongst our ranks, so much so that brothers who used to love each other for the sake of Allāh now hate each other, do not be swayed, do not be like feathers in the breeze, know the truth, stick to the truth and do not compromise the truth!!!

Benefit: The Jamāʿah Will Always Be Better

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Ibn Masʿūd [d. AH 33], radi Allāhu ʿanhu, said: "Whatever you may dislike about remaining with the jamāʿah is still better for you than whatever may please you in splitting from them."1

Sticking to the Jamāʿah Can Make or Break Your Islām

  Abū Khadījah

A profound and insightful lecture by our beloved brother, Abū Khadījah (may Allāh preserve him), where he describes and gives multiple evidence and examples of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah. Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah are those who adhere to the rules, regulations and fundamentals that are laid down in the Qurʾān and the Sunnah, in the Sharīʿah of Allāh, and upon the tongue of the Messenger of Allāh (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace). When a person sticks to these principles, only then will they be considered Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah.

The 2nd Jamāʿah: Ḥalāl or Ḥarām?

  Abū al-Ḥasan Mālik Ādam al-Akhdar

A clarification regarding the sometimes controversial, sometimes misunderstood topic of the ‘2nd jamāʿah’. Abū al-Ḥasan Mālik Ādām discusses some of the proofs and evidences in favour of the permissibility of making the 2nd jamāʿah. Our brother draws upon some of the writings of the ʿUlamāʾ who bring examples from the saḥābah and the Salaf to support the permissibility of this act.
