Shaykh ʿAbd al Muhsin Al-‘Abbaad : Al-Qā’idah Are Mujāhidoon In The Path Of The Devil Question: Some people say that the present day organisation (known as) Al-Qaa’idah are Khawārij and others say that they are Mujāhidūn (performing Jihād) what is the position of your eminence concerning this? Answer: Yes they are Mujāhidūn (struggling and fighting) in the path of the devil. Translated by Ḥasan Ṣumālī Brothers and sisters, previously I received e-mails where people were surprised with the Shaykh’s stance on the killing of Bin Laden. In reality no one should be amazed as the Shaykh has only stated what has previously been mentioned by the Imams of Ahl Us Sunnah from the likes of Ibn Taymīyyah that anyone who traverses upon the path of the Khawārij is fighting in the path of the devil, even though they believe that their actions are pleasing to Allāh. Ibn Taymīyyah (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said: “However, it is obligatory to differentiate between the legislated Jihād which Allāh and His Messenger has commanded and the innovated Jihād which is the Jihād (waged by) misguided individuals who perform Jihād in obedience to the devil but they believe that they are performing Jihād in obedience to The Most Merciful (Ar-Raḥmān). This is like the Jihād of the people of innovation and desires such as the Khawārij and other than them who fight against the people of Islām…”1

Obligation of Rejecting Legislation from Other than Allāh

From the correct belief of the Muslim is to disbelieve in the Ṭāghūt who invent new laws for mankind and reject the legislation of Allāh, subḥānahu wa ta'aala. In the following tawḥīd class, our brother, Abū al-ʿAbbās Mūsá Richardson, gave the example of the people who reject the legislated punishment for the theif as outlined in the Sharee'ah. In its place, the implement laws such as imprisonment of the thief. Their excuse for this: "Our laws will bring about rectification." Is this claim correct? Benefit: Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān Clarifies His Statement "The Muslim Brotherhood are from Ahl al-Sunnah"

A Clarification From the Shaykh, ʿAllāmah Ṣāliḥ Fawzān Concerning His Statement, "The Muslim Brotherhood Are From Ahl al-Sunnah"

All praise is due to Allāh, and Ṣʿalát and salām upon our Prophet Muḥammad, his family, and his companions.

My view with regards to the Muslim Brotherhood is that they are partisans (ḥizbiyyoon) who covet the attainment of rulership; and that they do not give concern to calling to the correcting of the creed (ʿaqīdah).
And they do not distinguish between their followers, between the Sunni (person upon the Sunnah) and the Bid'ee (person upon innovation).
As for the speech (found) in an audio recording that has come from me, then it is a slip of the tongue and does not change my stance concerning them in the slightest.

Is the Context Relevant When One Demeans Allāh?

During the 2011 lecture at York Univeristy entitled "Islām in Our Times," [then entire set is entitled Selected Points of Benefit from Sharḥ al-Sunnah] a questioner asks for advice on how to handle the feuding that occurs between masjids…where many of the people are caught up in the middle, a beneficial question seeking clarification about unity. Our beloved elder Dāwūd Adīb elaborates on what Islamic unity really is.

After this, a questioner asks for the URL (audio link) to Yusuf al-Qaradawi's infamous statement about the Israeli elections wherein he made the despicable statement, "If Allāh had presented himself to the people as a candidate he would not have been able to take this amount." A vile statement about Allāh, the Sublime, the Almighty. This clip serves to:

a) play the actual audio of Yusuf al-Qaradawi saying this statement (so there is no doubt about it being from him)
b) discuss the issue of "intention" or "intended meaning" or "context" and its relevance to such a lowly statement about Allāh
c) discuss the rulings of some of the major scholars on Qaradawi's statement and the obligation of him making tawbah

Recently, in order to distract some innocent Muslims from the evils of this statement and the serious errors of Qaradawi in general, some have taken to accusing Muslim speakers in the West of making takfīr of Qaradawi. Perhaps this has been done to draw attention away from Qaradawi's horrendous proclamation about Allāh and instead to gain sympathy for him. Some of the Major Scholars such as Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn and Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī (rahimahumullāh) stated that Qaradawi must make tawbah from this statement as it is a statement of kufr. This in turn has been relayed by many speakers in the West including Dāwūd Adīb and Abū Khadījah in lectures, quoting these two illustrious scholars and others. This has created a smokescreen of supposed injustice and extremism (by way of alleged takfīr from Western duʿāt who were merely narrating rulings of the scholars), thus deflecting attention away from Qaradawi and his serious errors.

Here are the statements of the two illustrious scholars:

Stated Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn after these words (of Qaradawi) were played to him, "I seek refuge in Allāh. It is obligatory for this person to repent. And if he does not he should be killed as an apostate, since he made the creation more knowledgeable than the Creator. It is upon him to repent to Allāh, so if he repents, then Allāh forgives the sins of His servants. And if not then the Wullāt ul-Amr should strike his neck (with the sword)." (Cassette Recording, quoted in Silencing the Hounding Dog, p.119).…

Stated Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādī, "On this day I was informed by the brother, Ṣāliḥ al-Bakri that he heard some words of (al-Qaradawi) in a cassette that he says that this Jew (i.e. the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu) was victorious by 99% of votes and that Allāh cannot even achieve this, even if the people voted for Allāh, He would not be able to acquire 99% of the votes. These words are clear and manifest misguidance. If he wished to make a Jew superior to Allāh, free is He from imperfection, the Most High, then he is a disbeliever (i.e. apostate). And if he intended that the Jews and Christians and the worshippers of the cow and chickens and others are very many in number yet they do not vote for Allāh, then this is another matter. However it is still clear misguidance (on al-Qaradawi's behalf). For verily, our Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, is not in need of voting, for He, free is He of all imperfection, is the one who says "Be" to something and it is. He is the one who destroyed Fir'aun, and He destroyed Qārun, and He destroyed many nations, from amongst those who exceeded beyond bounds and who stood in the faces of the Prophets of Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic. So he aided the Prophets and gave them victory, in this life and the next. Voting is only needed by a weak man, O Pauper!… Have you disbelieved O Qaradawi or have you brought yourself nearer?…..." (Silencing the Hounding Dog, pp.110-112).

Class: Explanation of al-Uṣūl al-Sittah

The exceptional book "Sharḥ al-Uṣūl al-Sittah" [شرح الأصول الستة] is a short treatise outlining six great and mighty principles of the dīn of Islām through which the errors of extremists of all kinds are made plain. These six principles comprise: a) sincerity in worship, b) obligation of unity, c) giving obedience to those in authority, d) knowledge of the true scholars of the religion, e) knowledge of the true awliyaa (friends) of Allāh and f)  recognizing and repelling a doubt related to a person's ability in following the Book and the Sunnnah.

Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Buraʿī is from the foremost students of Imām Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī (raḥimahullāh). In this important admonition, Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Buraʿī brings forth a multitude of clear proofs opposing the ‘way of life’ known as democracy (the worshipping of the majority!).

During a TROID Seminar in 2002 entitled We Accompany the Sunnah Wherever it Goes, the noble brother and student of  Imām Muqbil ibn Hādī al-WādiʿīAbū ʿAbd Allāh Ḥasan al-Ṣumālī  answers a question about Khālid ibn al-Walīd masjid and the speakers they promote. The noble speaker explains how they promote Sharīf ʿAbdi Nūr (refuted by Shaykh Muqbil), Ṣāliḥ al-Munajjid (defender of Sayyid Qutb, Takfīrī, Khārijī figurehead, refuted by Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī and others), also, how the Imām (Bashir), "if you were to listen to his tapes you would think he is someone at war with the manhaj of the Salaf...not someone who is a person of ʿilm". He also explains how KBW is a masjid that propped up the speakers of Jamāʿah al-Ittihād (a political party in Somalia, built upon the principles of Sayyid Qutb and the Muslim Brotherhood, that spread discord and seperation, members of al-Shabāb evolved out of this group that was more prominent in the 80s and 90s).  Abū ʿAbd Allāh Ḥasan al-Ṣumālī makes mention of the recordings made between TROID and the scholars about Bashīr and KBW, for the people to take heed of these admonisions and to move on with the daʿwah. The speaker emphasises, "there are no Scholars in the West" and explains why they (Bashīr et al.) put down the scholars and put themselves up, calling themselves "shaykhs" on their websites and flyers, why?, "to keep your ignorant, to keep you in darkness". The speaker concludes by imploring those confused to learn the books of tawḥīd, learn the books of sunnah, be with righteous companions who traverse the same path (a key point as it is often old friends and allegiances that stops people from leaving ḥizbiyyah). Ḥasan al-Ṣumālī (a Somali himself) mentions that many people will refuse to leave the ḥizbiyyah of KBW because "its my people," this being the trap of prefering nationalism over the truth.


Is Differing a Mercy - How Do We Unite the Ummah?

The topic is related to the unity of the Muslims, the issue of ikhtilāf - differing and splitting. There is not a single Muslim alive today who has anything to do with the dīn or religion of Allāh (subhānahu wa taʿāla) except that he recognizes the fact that Muslims are divided and they have split and they are torn apart and that they are in fractions. No Muslim can fail to recognize this, anyone who is involved in da'wah, anyone who is involved in mainstream islam will recognize this.
