al-ʿAllāmah Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī
A short admonition on the importance of clinging to the correct manhaj. An exemplification of why this noble Salafī manhaj is the only way which will bring rectification and success to the ummah. The questions which follow underline the evils of Abū al-Fitan (al-Maʿribī) and his similitude to the methodology of Sayyid Qutb, the destruction of the manhaj of al-muwāzināt (counterbalancing the good and bad points of a person) and the mistake of carrying the mujmal upon the mufaṣṣal (the general over the specific), destruction upon the manhaj of salaf.
The first in a series of translations from the refutations of Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī upon the fallacious manhaj of Abū al-Fitan al-Miṣrī, then al-Maʿribī.

A lecture from the 2008 Toronto leg of the Holding on to Islām seminar. The one who destroys your house from the inside is worse and more dangerous than the one who tries to destroy your house from the outside; the same is true for the people of bidʿah who claim to be Salafī, who quote from some of the Salafī scholars etc., yet their aim is to destroy our ʿaqīḍah and our manhaj, leading us into the Fire. How should the Salafīs deal with these people? This lecture incorporates the works of Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madhkhālī, and other Salafī scholars of today. Ustadh Abū Khadījah also takes examples from the lives of the Ṣaḥābah and the scholars of the past.

Our noble and respected Shaykh, Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī, may Allāh protect and preserve him, outlines the importance of clinging to the Qurʾān and the Sunnah in order to be successful, and explains that it is through this the affairs of the Ummah will be rectified.

In implementation of the saying of Allāh, the Most High: And as for the blessing of your Lord, proclaim it. [Sūrah al-Ḍūhā, 93:11]
Allāh has granted me the opportunity to visit the Imām, al-Muḥaddith, Rabīʿ al-Sunnah, Rabīʿ ibn Hādī ibn ʿUmayr al-Madkhalī — may Allāh preserve him — at his house in the city of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on the night of Sunday the ninteenth of Shaʿbān, in the year one thousand four hundred and thirty-nine after the migration of al-Muṣṭafá (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) [2018/05/19]. I was accompanied by my brothers from Tunisia.
I was very delighted at the way the shaykh and his son received and welcomed us. Their doors are open wide for visitation and the claim that it is closed — by those who label others ṣaʿāfiqah — is a blazing lie.
I found him (Imām Rabīʿ) in a safe and healthy state — may Allāh preserve him upon that — holding his book, reading and researching. I sought permission to present some questions to him and he granted us permission. We were enlightened by his answers so much so that I wished to share them and perhaps Allāh will benefit others by way of it.
Question #1:
The statement that, “Shaykh Muḥammad (ibn Hādī) has evidences with him for his refutation against the students — who were labelled ṣaʿāfiqah — which Shaykh Rabīʿ has not yet been informed about, so do not be hasty against Shaykh Muḥammad” has become widespread between our brothers.
Shaykh Rabīʿ: Woe, woe, woe to them!
Right. There are evidences which I have not seen yet. Nor have the people seen them and even Muḥammad ibn Hādī has not seen them yet. This is because it does not exist at all.
The Shaykh then laughed, may Allāh preserve him upon his happiness.
Question #2:
'O Shaykh, on some Facebook pages, they have now started to speak ill of Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī and Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī, may Allāh preserve them.
Shaykh Rabīʿ: Have they become people of innovation?! They (Shaykh ʿUbayd and Shaykh ʿAbdullāh) are from the heads of Daʿwah Salafiyyah, bārak Allāhu fīkum.
The shaykh, upon hearing this news, became upset.
Written by: Abū ʿUbaydah Walīd al-Tunīsī, Sunday at Fajr, the 19th of Shaʿbān, 1439 AH.
This sitting was witnessed by ʿUmar, the son of Shaykh Rabīʿ, as well as our Tunisian brothers ʿAbd al-Raʾūf, Ḥātim and Muḥammad ʿAlī al-Mājarī.

[Q]: Is it permissible for us to insult those whom the scholars have insulted?
هل يجوز لنا أن نسب من سبه أهل العلم؟
[A]: Insulting, no you should not insult. If he was declared an innovator and there is a need to clarify his condition then clarify. Say so and so is a mubtad'i (innovator), so and so has such and such with him. As for insulting then no, no insulting, do not insult if the scholars insulted him, you do not insult even if they judged him with a judgment that is rightful. If you see people being influenced by him in a harmful way then clarify his condition, so that the people can be cautious of his evil and safe from his evil. As for insulting then no, it does not benefit.

Shaykh Aḥmad Bāzmūl's Warning Against the New Book of ʿAlī Ḥasan al-Ḥalabī: http://www.salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=9&Topic=7781
Shaykh Rabīʿ on Shaykh Aḥmad Bazmūl's Warning Against ʿAlī Ḥasan al-Ḥalabī's New Book (below):
All praises be to Allāh, and peace and blessings of Allāh be upon the Messenger of Allāh, and upon his family, his companions and those who have aided him.
To Proceed:
Glad tidings to all the Salafīs everywhere upon the happy news, which indeed is the praise of our Shaykh, the flag-bearer of Jarh and Ta'deel (The science of criticizing and praising), Rabīʿ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī, may Allāh preserve him (from all harm), for the book "A Warning to the Prudent Ones from the Flimsiness of the reasoning of ʿAlī al-Ḥalabī, the Miskīn" which has been written by Shaykh Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Sa'ad bin Fathee bin Saʿīd az-Za'taree.
So, I asked (Rabīʿ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī), may Allāh preserve him, his opinion about the book?
So he (Rabīʿ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī ), may Allāh preserve him, said:
"I have read the book in its entirety, and the writer has done very well. And al-Ḥalabī has been subdued over (his explanation) of many of different issues, and has been made to face the correct stance. And it is indeed a strong knowledge-based refutation, maa shaa Allāh ta'aʿalá, may Allāh reward the writer the best of rewards."
I have written this on: 15/01/1430AH (12/01/2009)
All praises be to Allāh, Lord of the Worlds. And may the Peace and Blessings of Allāh be upon the Leader of the First and the Last (Prophet Muḥammad, ṣallallāhu ʿalayhī wa sʿalám)
From the one who loves you for the sake of Allāh:

A visit to Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī Al-Madhkhali Rabīʿ al-Awwal 1433 - Feb 2012
On 24 Rabīʿ 1 433, corresponding to Thursday 16th February 2012, Allāh blessed us to visit Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Haadi al-Madhkhali. I prayed the Maghrib prayer with the Shaykh along with other brothers, mainly from North Africa. Some of the students, I recognized, were studying at the Islamic University of Madinah or the Prophet's mosque (sallallāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam). The sheikh said, come to the house so we all entered his house. We sat down and waited for him to come from the other door. When he came, he gave salām and asked how was Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābiri? I said that alhamdulilāh he was well mashaAllāh. He asked the other brothers as to where they were from. He asked about their countries and their da'wah. Then he asked about the teachers in these countries and what were they teaching.
The sheikh gave some advice concerning Ikhlās (sincerity) and Taqwa (piety). He also spoke of holding firm onto the rope of Allāh and not to be divided. The sheikh mentioned that we should advise each other wanting good for our brothers. The sheikh said that we should be brothers for the sake of Allāh. He warned from falling into the corrupt methodologies such as in our current time, into the dangers of the new principles laid down by Abū al Ḥasan and lately 'Ali Ḥasan. One of the new false principles that some of these invented was the methodology of 'La Yalzamoni' meaning 'it doesn’t concern me so that they don't have to clarify their mistakes and repent. He said that this is similar to the way of the disbelievers, who say it is not incumbent to clarify, so they can do as they wish. Then the sheikh called his driver to prepare tea for everyone.
When it was time for salatul Isha, I went to the prayer with the sheikh. After salatul Isha, I spoke with the sheikh briefly and as I was about to leave, the sheikh called me back and said that he was very busy writing up something (turned out it was in defense of Imam Bukhārī raḥimahullāh against what 'Ali Ḥasan attributed to Imam Bukhārī that he has statements similar to the Murji'a but we don't call him Murji - put up earlier today 2nd Rabīʿ 2 1433 – Friday 24th February). He said, "the library is open if you want to use it; you are welcome to stay and if you want you can also sleep over." Mashaallah, Allāhuma Baarik, the sheikh showed such beautiful manners. I decided to benefit from his library and went downstairs. After about an hour, I was about to leave but the driver said that the sheikh said no one leaves until they have had dinner. He called us up and we sat at the sufrah mashaAllāh. He asked about the duroos in Madinah, he said give sallam to Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābiri, Shaykh Muḥammad bin Haadi and Shaykh ʿAbdullāh Al-Bukhārī, mentioning them by name. He asked about their efforts in Madinah. I said to him that Shaykh ʿUbayd teaches Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī in Masjid Dhu Nurayn near the Prophet's mosque (sallAllāhi 'ʿalayhī wa-sallam) and that about a few hundred people attend. I mentioned that Shaykh Muḥammad bin Haadi teachers 'Ma'aarij Al-Qubool' on Sundays and his masjid is always full mashaAllāh. He asked where was sheikh Muḥammad in the book? I replied that he was explaining the ḥadīth of Jibril (ʿalayhī sallam). I also mentioned that sheikh ʿAbdullāh Al-Bukhārī was teaching Usūl Thalatha and 'Umdat al-Aḥkām.
The sheikh was happy and then commented that the sign of the people on the truth is they concentrate on books of the scholars of the past and in particular 'Aqīdah. He then asked about the da'wah in the UK and he said if some brothers are still warning against the brothers at Maktaba Salafīyyah, he will personally address it and speak to those concerned not to warn against their brothers from Ahlu Sunnah. The sheikh advised that there should not be discord between the Salafīs. Advice is one thing and is welcomed from any person without dishonouring and defaming one's brother. May Allāh rectify the affairs and forgive us our shortcomings. Finally, after dinner, he said, "give my sallam to the mashaayikh."
I sought permission to leave and made du'a for the sheikh and left after saying the sallam. May Allāh aid us in that which benefits and benefit us with that which we have learnt. Amīn.
ʿAbd alilah Lahmami
Note from Abū Khadījah:
This inshaa'Allāh puts an end to the warnings that are being made against the Mashayikh of Madinah and the Maktabah. One should pay no attention to those who try to divide the ranks of Ahl al-Sunnah by speaking ill of those who love and call to the Sunnah. Cling, brothers and sisters, to this beautiful advice of 'Allāmah Rabīʿ al-Madkhalī (hafiẓahullāh) in pursuing and acting upon knowledge, in loving the People of Sunnah and their Scholars - and also being upon clarity with regard to the callers to misguidance, being cautious of them and the false principles they call to. And we ask Allāh for security from fitan.
Was-ṣallallāhu 'ala Muḥammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa-sallam, wal-hamdulillāhi rabbil-'aalameem.
