In the Name of Allah, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Muḥī ad-Dīn Abū Zakariyyah Yaḥyā b. Sharaf an-Nawawī ad-Dimashqī ash-Shāfi’ī.

Born in 631H and died in 675H. We praise the Most High. In a short course of forty-four years, he succeeded brilliantly in producing many distinguished writings that were received by the practiced student and the uneducated reader with the strongest marks of approbation. Ibn Kathīr commented that al-Majmū, which has not seen its finished form, would have been a work unequaled had an-Nawawī been afforded the opportunity to complete it.

Time has little to do with the glorious heights these men have walked. But Sincerity. Ah, sincerity has much to do with it.[/size]
