as salamu alaykum
i attended last years course alhamdulillah it was very beneficial barakallahu feekum. The only problem though that i came across last year was actually hearing the lesson at times in the sister's section. It can be a bit distracting in the sister's section when the kids are running around and i remember last year there were some technical problems with the speaker. My suggestion is if we do come across something like that this time around, would it be possible to have the dars posted online and only members of the course would be able to access the dars.
just an suggestion...as salamu alaykum
Sister, we sincerely thank you for your input, it is most appreciated. The problem last year with the audio in the sisters section was not detected until during the programme. Insha'Allaah, we will be testing/reviewing all audio equiptment locally and for the online viewers before the programme begins, so we will make sure it is working properly. We do need some help though from the sisters, especially returning students insha'Allaah. Here are a few guidelines:
a) Sisters should not bring their children to the classes, it is an organised class session and bringing children will distract all the students, then they wander in to the brothers area and then end up all over the recording/create a distraction. If you are a sister and want to attend but have no one to watch your kids, please sign up for the online reg. thus not harming those around you/the programme
b) we kindly ask the sisters to 'patrol their area' so to speak, we had notes sent to the brothers side continuosly complaining about the noise in the sisters area. Sisters, we can certainly make annoucements, give advice and make requests, however, you are the only ones who truly can decrease the noise level by politely and in a united fashion, asking the sisters to quiet down or perhaps come back after the classes (usually, no one wants to do this as they are worried about any friction). Honestly, this is number one way to curb the problem, the sisters must step up and have ghīrah for their quest in knowledge and not tolerate the distractions, if people are bold enough to make a distraction, why shouldn't we be strong enough to tell them (politely) to cut it out.
Alhumdulillah, I have already registered, but have another quick question; what happens if you miss a class here and there, does attendence count? And is there anyway of listening to the missed lectures before the test? Barak Allaahu Feekum...
Most students miss lectures at least once. With the weekly quizzes, you will not have the chance to let the information slide, since you need to review the material every weekend for your quizzes. So you need to rely on your peers and get the notes from them when you are absent. Identifying dedicated and beneficial peers, knowing their levels, cooperating with them, helping them, and receiving their help are all essential elements of seeking knowledge. Imām Al-Bukhārī (d.256) mentioned that a man can not become knowledgable unless he takes knowledge from those above him, those on his same level, and even those below his level! The show of mutual support between many of the students last year, study groups, review sessions, etc. was impressive - maa shaa' Allaah. May Allaah grant you success.

Wa 'alaykumus Salaam Wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatuh,
Erol, we thank you for your question. I don't think it will formally end, however, in order to parcipate properly, having all notes, classes etc. your reg. would need to be submitted roughly by around the 26th-27th of June to avoid being enrolled late.
Jazaak Allaahu khair for your patience. We are currently testing/setting up the HearMe room. There will be no login information, registered students will have access to the room automatically based on the paltalk username they submitted. We will be posting/emailing instructions in the coming days insha'Allaah.

I was wondering If students were allowed to Attend the classes at the Masjid... But also have a name online to listen to the classes online without having to pay for another registration fee.. Do to the fact that many sisters are mothers and may not have someone to look after there kids at times.
