Food for thought:

Anyone see a problem defining the word ḥadīth as "oral traditions..."?

Also - When a Companion says, "We were commanded to do such-and-such..." Is this marfoo' or mawqoof?

And is mu-allaq limited to when a compiler omits the chain to a Companion? What if the compiler says, "The Prophet (ṣallallāhu 'alayhe wa sallam) said..." without mention of the Companion?

And when we reach our final edited version, could the links be removed please? And we'll remove the previous versions then in shaa' Allaah.

And an important reminder about using the phrase "PBUH" or the likes:

"ibn abi razaak"

this seems like a combination of the two authors of the famous musannafs:

'abdur-razzaaq as-san'aanee
aboo bakr ibn abee shaybah

I think it depends...

If a Companion says "We were commanded to do such-and-such..." that would be marfoo' if it can be confirmed that the one who was commanding was the Prophet, ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam.

BUT

It would be mawqoof if it was confirmed that it was another Companion who was commanding. For example, a Sahabah could say "We were commanded..." but he or she could be referring to something that was commanded under the Khilaafa of Abū Bakr, or 'Umar, 'Uthmān, 'Alee,... etc. may Allaah be pleased with all of them.
