Here are some methods to help strengthen your command of the Arabic language when writing:
There are, of course, certain requirements that you must observe before beginning such task. The first and perhaps the most essential is sincerity. The second is imploring Allah to aid you. The third is patience.
- Be committed to learning the grammar and spelling rules of this language. Keep them in mind as you write. (But to learn grammar is not to learn the language itself. Since one may learn all rules of this world, but still be afflicted with a scurvy, weak inability to properly record the thoughts that occur to him).
- Indulge in books of language and literary works. (By that I do suggest Ibn al-Qayyim and Ibn Taymiyyah, Muḥammad Raslān, ath-Thahabī.. those are a few of many).
- Habituate yourself to compose daily. Your pen and paper must rarely separate.
- Make it a rule to accept the observations of one who teaches, one who criticizes, and one who corrects your work.
Practise, practise, practise and do not be disheartened by any difficulties you may encounter. As you advance, they will become easy by Allah’s Leave.
