The Greatest Loss the Ummah Ever Faced
Our elder and teacher, Abū al-ʿAbbās (ḥafiẓahullāh) delivers a heartbreaking lecture relating the greatest loss that mankind has ever faced: the death of the Messenger Muḥammad (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam).
This lecture is from the sīrah series. From the beginning to 06:36 Ustādh Abū al-Abbās goes through some test answers. The lecture begins fully from 06.36.
Indeed, Allāh has created this life as a test for people. He made this life a life of enjoyment and absolute pleasure. He created life and death in order to test which of us are best in deeds. He made some of the people oppressors and some of the people oppressed, trying and testing the oppressors and the oppressed, and He is watching and recording our actions and will call us back to account. Our life is full of loss; we struggle through the loss of loved ones, money, physical health emotional well-being, etc., afflictions which Allāh tests His servants with. Among the worse things that a person can lose is his beloved one: his wife, his mother, his child, and he will feel like he has lost a great deal in this world. However, there is no greater loss than the loss of the one who came with the revelation. There is nothing more deserving that we cry over than the death of the Messenger (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), the death which the world has shed tears over for the past 1438 years. This is the man who brought mercy, reconciliation, cooperation, and justice to the people of the earth after darkness had spread throughout it. The man who brought the message of humanity, peace and tawḥid, the right of Allāh over the people, and has conveyed it with the utmost truth and honour. This heartbreaking lecture goes through some of the key events of the Messenger's life, detailing his love for his Ummah, and his resilience in calling the people to that which gives life to the heart and the body.
