Be Patient With Your Parents

Shaykh Ḥasan al-Ṣumāli

Advice on how to patiently give daʿwah to one’s parents who are concerned about one’s Islamicity or desire to seek knowledge. The Shaykh advises that one exhibit the best of manners and patience, understanding that one’s parents may have reservations due to the media or other misconceptions, and their intervention may be well-intended (out of love). He underscores the commandment in the Qurʾan to honour one’s parents (in a permissible manner).
