Located in the heart of Weston, Masjid al-Furqān services the neighbourhood of Mount Dennis and Humber. The community is diverse, made up of people from around the world including many converts. The centre has a youthful vibe and is known for being a place to acquire authentic knowledge upon the Kitāb and Sunnah, connecting the community to the major scholars and their students.
The brothers prayer area can accommodate approximately 250 people. It is where the daily prayers, Friday khuṭbah, regular lessons and conference events occur.
The sisters prayer area holds approximately 100 sisters. The sisters area is open daily for prayers, lectures and other events.
Over the years, TROID has hosted countless conferences at Masjid al-Furqān. This includes lectures, workshops, conferences and courses.
TROID has produced over 15 leaflets and is active in the call to tawḥīd. In the neighbourhood of Weston and around Toronto, brothers are active in the call to Allāh.

Expounding upon the Fiqh of al-Ṣalah, the second pillar of Islām, using the extraordinary works of al-Hāfiẓ Ibn Hajr al-Asqalānī, with further commentary by the noble shaykh, Ṣaliḥ al-Fawzan.
This course will focus on the basic elements of the Arabic language. At the completion of the course, students will have: • Memorised the Arabic alphabets and learned to read, write and conjugate letters. • Learned and memorised new vocabulary (e.g. body parts, colours, countries, animals and more). • Read concise texts with improved fluency and comprehension. In addition, students will take several dictation quizzes throughout the course which aims to improve spelling and writing ability.
Personalised Qurʾān studies for youth and children age 8+.
Children will learn to read the Qurʾān by themselves, to memorise and recite with tajwīd. Children also learn the correct creed, fiqh, manners and etiquettes according to the Qurʾān and Sunnah with the understanding of the righteous Companions.
Qualified teachers for boys and girls are available.
Cost: $80 per child a month.
In 2019, TROID hosted the noble shaykh, Dr. Muḥammad Ghālib al-ʿUmari, a professor from the UAE. The focus was on being Muslim in our time.
In 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2018, TROID conducted summer courses on a wide variety of ʿaqīdah, fiqh and tafsīr topics.
In 2017, TROID hosted an event with Shaykh Abū al-Ḥasan Mālik al-Akhdar. Shaykh Abū al-Ḥasan has conducted lessons with the centre since the early 2000s.
