Do Refutations Harden the Heart?

A brief reminder on the necessity upon the Muslim of refuting falsehood.

As the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said in various narrations, innovations will become widespread. Many groups have added new things to the religion that Allāh, subḥānahu wa taʿala, did not legislate. In following the best generations of mankind, the Salaf, it is upon us to make clear the truth from the falsehood. Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah (d.728H) – raḥimahullāh – said, “Ordering with the Sunnah and prohibiting from the innovation is ordering the good and prohibiting from the evil. And it is the most virtuous of righteous actions.” Our brother Abū al-ʿAbbās Mūsá Richardson expounds on this issue in this audio:
