Holding on to the Salafī Manhaj

Imām ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Bāz, Imām Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī

A manhaj-based discourse delivered in the Masjid of Imām Ibn Bāz (raḥimahullāh) in the city of Ṭāʾif, Saudi al-ʿArabīa. This knowledge-filled lecture by the flag bearer of al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl is followed by commentary and praise from the late Imām, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbdullāh Ibn Bāz (raḥimahullāh).

Quotes from the lecture:

“…And the dīn is complete, we do not need new, additional notes from you or me, groups or parties… Let us stay upon this Salafī manhaj, it is the aided group, the Firqat al-Nājiyah (the saved sect), the Taa`ifatul-Mansūrah (the victorious group), it is Ahl al-Ḥadīth (the people of Ḥadīth). That which Ibn Taymīyyah and the likes were upon and it is what we are upon.”

“If it wasn’t for the obstacles that come in its way from the people of kufr and bidʿah, we would see this blessed daʿwah shining across the Muslim world.”

“Beware of division, whether it be fanatical bigotry or partisanship. For many of the youth do not hesitate to lie, hold fast to the rope of Allāh, this blessed Islamic Salafī daʿwah.”

“It is upon us to hold fast to the rope of Allāh and to stay far from separation… I ask Allāh to show us the truth in its reality and to show us falsehood and its realities… I ask Allāh to make us callers to the truth and may Allāh save us from the punishment of the evildoers.”

Stated Imām Ibn Bāz (raḥimahullāh), “The callers need to spread knowledge through any means, raḍīo, books, lectures because the people are in need of knowledge and what our brother, Shaykh Rabīʿ has mentioned is correct, the daʿwah of Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb. The daʿwah of Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhab is the Salafī daʿwah, what the Ṣaḥābahh were upon, the daʿwah of Ibn Taymīyyah, Ibn al-Qayyim and others. He called the people to pure tawḥīd, from his magnificent books is Kitāb al-Tawḥīd and he propagated the books of Ibn Taymīyyah, he called to this daʿwah and aided Islām, uniting this peninsula upon correctness, uprightness and istiqāmah.”
