A Warning from Committing Any Innovations in Rajab

The Islamic year consists of twelve months of which four are sacred. Allāh said: إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِندَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ۚ ‎﴿٣٦﴾‏ “Indeed, there were twelve months from the beginning of time of which four are sacred.” [al-Tawbah, 9:36] Rajab is not simply one of these twelve months; it is actually one of the four sacred months.
