Laylah al-Qadr Is Not in Shaʿbān, but It Is in Ramaḍān

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) said:1 Indeed, many of the general folk think that Laylah al-Qadr [i.e.the Night of Decree] is on the fifteenth of Shaʿbān, and what will occur in the upcoming year is written in it; however, it is known that Laylah al-Qadr is in Ramaḍān. The shaykh (رحمه الله) responded:1 Fasting [on a Monday and Thursday] is recommended, for verily, the Prophet (ﷺ) would fast on Mondays and Thursdays, and he (ﷺ) would say: ‘They are the days in which deeds are presented to Allāh, and I like my deeds to be presented [to Him] when I am fasting.’2 It is also recommended...
