The Ruling on Jokes in Islām

From the greatest scholars of the Ummah in the last century was al-‘Allaamah ash-Shaykh Abdul-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abdillaah Ibn Baaz rahimahullaah. His firmly-grounded knowledge of the religion, wisdom, and piety were characteristics that made him recognized by Muslims internationally. A collection of his rulings, al-Majmoo’ al-Fataawaa, is an outstanding example of these aformentioned characeristics. From the beauty of Islam is that it provides guidance to mankind in every part of his life. An example is the religious guidance in the topic of joking, something that many of us do everyday. In this ruling, presented by our brother Abul-‘Abbaas, Shaykh Ibn Baaz briefly discusses the place of joking in the religion.
