Invite to the Way of Your Lord with Wisdom and Fair Preaching (Al-Naḥl, 16:125)
Allāh—the Most High—said:
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ
“Invite (mankind, O Muḥammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم)) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islām) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qurʾān) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better.”
(Al-Naḥl, 16:125)
Imām ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī comments:
This verse is comprehensive of calling those among the Muslims who have shown carelessness or disregard for some matters of this religion just as it is inclusive of calling the di…

More Astray than Cattle – Understanding the Misguided Status of the Disbelievers
Allāh said:
Or do you think that most of them hear or use their reason (in order to comprehend what they are being called to)? They are but like cattle (who only hear a call without applying reason). Rather, they are even more astray from the path (than cattle, who at least respond to the call of their owner).
(Al-Furqān, 25:44)

The Proud Good Doer and the Remorseful Sinner
Some of the pious predecessors used to say: Indeed, a servant may perpetrate a sin that causes him to ultimately enter Paradise. While another may engage in an act of goodness for which he ultimately enters the Fire. They were asked: How? It was said: He perpetrates the sin but remains perpetually concerned with it, as if he observes it in front of his eyes at all times. He finds himself in a state of fear, stress, constantly crying, and in a state of regret. All out of shyness before his Lord—the Most High. Bowing his head in humility before Him. His heart is broken in relation to his misdee…

Beneficial Knowledge Is That Which Positively Affects the Heart
Narrated from ʿAbdullāh Ibn Masʿūd (رضي الله عنه) who said: “Indeed, there are people who recite the Qurʾān, but it it does not exceed past their necks. For if it was to enter their hearts, finding a foothold therein, they would have derived benefit from it.”1
Ibn Rajab comments:
Beneficial knowledge is that which affects the heart, instilling within it knowledge of Allāh and His greatness, while stipulating true knowledge-based fear of Him, exaltation of Him, testifying as to His magnanimity and showing love for Him. If these things are able to settle and find tranquillity within one’s hea…

The Resolute Stance of the Salaf on the Sheer Evil of the Rāfiḍah
Due to the longstanding political alignment between The Muslim Brotherhood and the Rāfiḍah Shiʿah of Irān, dating back to the mid 20th century, when Sayyid Sayyid Quṭb outwardly praises the Iranian revolution and its figureheads, many Muslims today have become ignorant of the evil realities of the shīʿah doctrines. With increasingly less focus on the Islamic ʿaqīdah and its principles, the average Muslim is simply unaware of the shirk and vile attacks on the Prophet’s companions contained in the Rāfiḍī beliefs, simply seeing them as an ally of Islām. This could not be further from the truth…

The Loyal Investors in the Muslim Brotherhood
The Egyptian scholar, the illustrious Muḥadith, the insightful critic, Shaykh al-ʿAllāmah Aḥmad Shākir, was born in the year 1892 (1307 AH) and died in the year 1958 (1377 AH) رحمه الله. He wrote a report, a private handwritten advice to King ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ʾĀl Saʿūd (رحمه الله) in 1939. It was titled, “Taqrīr Shuʾūn al-Taʿlīm wa-al-Qaḍāʾ”. This report was about 68 pages long and was only first published in 2009. The most important issue this advice focused on was the state of the Muslim countries and the danger of separating worldly sciences and religion, whereby some individuals had advocate…

Commonly Observed Mistakes in Prayer
Introduction
Living in the later days of this ummah is evidenced by the observable widespread straying from the prophetic Sunnah, something that was prophesied by the noble Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم): “You shall indeed adopt the practices of the nations before you [in disobedience and contradiction to their messengers] hand-span by hand-span, arm length by arm length. To the extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s den you would follow them into it.” The companions asked: “O Messenger of Allāh! [Is it the practices] of the Jews and the Christians?” He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) replied: “Wh…

The Dangers of Extravagantly Consuming Food and Drink on One’s Intellect, Body and Wealth
Allāh—the Most High—said:
وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ
“And eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allāh) likes not al-Musrifūn (those who waste by extravagance).”
(Al-Aʿrāf, 7:31)
Imām ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī comments:
Allāh has gathered in this verse a multitude of matters that hold immense benefit for mankind in terms of their religion, physical forms, circumstances, and ultimate end.
The command to “eat and drink” proves its obligation—that it is legislatively impermissible for a servant to abandon the consumpti…
