Advice to the Youth
Verily Allāh the Exalted said:
فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا ﴿٦٥﴾
So No! By your Lord, they cannot believe until they make you (O Muḥammad) a judge in all disputes that they have between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decision, but accept them with full submission.
[al-Nisāʾ, 4:65]
We hope for the Muslim youth that they do not open the door of destructive explanations for the Sunnah and for the Salafī methodology, as we hope for them…

Pearls of Wisdom from the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ
“There is no one who does not know his own faults, except that he is stupid.”
Iyās ibn Muʿāwiyah (d. AH 122)
Between Hope and Fear
Sufyān Ibn ʿUyaynah (d.198H) – raḥimahullāh – said:
“He whose sin is due to desire, then have hope for him; and he whose sin is due to pride, then fear for him. Because Ādam (ʿalayhi al-Salām) sinned due to desire, and he was forgiven; and Iblīs sinned due to pride, and he was cursed.”1
Signs of True Brotherhood
ʿAlī Ibn Abī Ṭālib (raḍī Allāhu ʿanhu) said:

The Advice of Sufyān al-Thawrī
“Wahb used to give precedence to Sufyān’s memory over that of Mālik.”
Ibn Maḥdī
The Advice
Sufyān al-Thawrī2 – raḥimahullāh – wrote to ’Abbaad Ibn ’Abbaad al-Khawwaas al-ArṢūfī3 – raḥimahullāh – saying,
“To proceed: You are in a time which the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge from reaching, and they had the knowledge that we do not have, and they had precedence which we do no. So how is it for us, when we reach that, having little knowledge, little patience, few helpers upon what is good, corruption of the people and pollution of this world?! So take to the original state of…

The Advice of Imām Wahb Ibn Munabbih to a Man Affected by the Way of the Khawārij
By Allāh the Khawārij were never a jamāʿah (united body), except that Allāh split them up into their worse condition. Nor has anyone of them opened his mouth except that Allāh smote him on his neck. Never has the Ummah united under a man from the Khawārij.
Introduction
All praise is to Allāh. And may Allāh bless and send peace upon His Messenger, and upon his family, and upon his Companions, and he whom He has befriended.
Verily the Khawārij 1 are evil people, advocates of fitnah (trials/tribulations) and the standards of division. If the Muslim affairs had been settled, and they were…

The Advice of ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Concerning the Incumbency of the Sunnah and Following the Salaf
Then know that there cannot ever be any innovation, except that a proof against it has already passed, and there is a warning in it.
From Shihaab Ibn Khiraash1 who said: ʿUmar Ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz (d.101H) – raḥimahullāh- wrote to a man,
“May peace be upon you, to proceed:
So verily I advise you to fear Allāh, and to make His Command the objective, and to follow the Sunnah of His Messenger, and to leave off what people invented after him ﷺ, from whatever is confirmed as his Sunnah, and his supply will suffice you.
Then know that there cannot ever be any innovation, except that a proof agains…

Toilet Etiquette
One should always move and hide away from others when relieving oneself.
1. Entering:
As an added note, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “To put a barrier that will prevent the jinn from seeing the ʿawrah of the sons of Ādam, let any one of you say ‘Bismillāh’ when entering the toilet.”1 One should enter the toilet with the left foot first2 and say whilst entering: “Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu-bika min al-khubuthi wa-al-khabāʾith.”3 [O Allāh, verily I seek refuge in you from all evil things. It could also mean, O Allāh, verily I seek refuge in you from the male and female jinns.4 It is known that the…

An Authentication of the Duʿāʾ Said When Leaving the House
To deny for Allāh everything which He has denied for Himself in His Book, or which His Messenger denied for Him, along with believing that its fully perfect opposite is confirmed for Allāh – the Most High.
Shiraz asked:
Here is a brief reply:
Shaykh al-Albānī has indicated that this ḥadīth is authentic in a number of works. For example, he declared it ‘ṣaḥīḥ’ in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ (no. 499). He has also authenticated the ḥadīth in Ṣaḥīḥ Sunan Abū Dāwūd (no.4249) and Ṣaḥīḥ Sunanut-Tirmidthī (no.2724).
Furthermore, al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mundhirī said in a…

The Great Virtue Of Lowering the Gaze
Allāh, the Exalted said:
قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾
“Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their private parts; that will make for greater purity for them. Indeed, Allāh is well acquainted with all that they do.”
[al-Nūr, 24:30]
So Allāh made purification and spiritual growth to be the outcome of lowering the gaze and guarding the private parts. It is for this reason that lowering one’s gaze from (seeing) the prohibited things necessarily lea…
