The Prerequisites of Remembrances and Invocations Used in Ruqyah
[Q]: The various remembrances and invocations represent the weapons of every believer. Are there any prerequisites for the use of these weapons?
[A]: Yes, among the greatest of its prerequisites is that one says them while harbouring trust in Allāh, believing in the truthfulness of Him and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم). Having īmān that Allāh is the Truth and His speech is completely true. Then, a person must say them sincerely for the sake of Allāh, according to the sunnah of His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), possessing true faith that he (صلى الله عليه وسلم) has delivered the truth…

The Illustrious Death of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr
Al-Ḥajjāj ibn Yūsuf sent for Saʿīd ibn Jubayr. His messenger met him in Makkah. From there, they travelled together for the span of three days. The messenger observed him fasting the days and standing the nights in prayer. The messenger said to him: “By Allāh! Indeed, I know that I am taking you to the one who will execute you. So flee, taking whichever route you please.” Saʿīd replied to him saying: “It shall reach Ḥajjāj that you had captured me. If you were to allow me to flee, I fear that he will kill you. So take me to him.” So the messenger proceeded with him.
When they entered upon Ḥa…

The Ruling of Selfie-Taking and the Dangers of Vanity and Adornment
Imām Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn

This is because the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) warned against the taking of pictures, saying: “The most severe in punishment on the Day of Judgement will be for those who take pictures.”1 He also said: “Every individual who takes pictures will be in the Fire. Every picture he took will be made into…
