Sisters Mocking Sister
Shaykh Mūsá Richardson
A discussion on the need for good manners and encouragement for sisters who are striving to adorn themselves with the beauty of ḥijāb. In certain circles, there can be a pompous approach that belittles sisters who are struggling to implement the proper ḥijāb, rather they should be advised kindly and encouraged. Additionally, the speaker touches on the formation of groups based upon clothing such as “the niqābi group” or “niqabis for life” etc. that bind sisters together based on a face cover. This approach excludes sisters who do not hold it obligatory to cover their faces (which is the majority position of the Salaf) and is not from the legislated boundaries of unity. Sisters are united by the same creed and methodology, not by a face veil.
