The Sunnah is the Sunnah!
The importance of finding a righteous spouse; think about who you’d want as a mother or father to your children. Think ahead with regard to piety. No father should allow his daughter to marry a man from Ahlul-bidʿah or Faasiq, they are not for our daughters! Nor for our sons! Why is it important to cultivate our children from a young age upon the Sunnah? How will it effect them in the long run? What are the benefits? Why is it important to have fixed questions before getting married in regards to selecting your spouse? How will they raise your children? What will the outcome be?
Fuḍayl Ibn ʿIyāḍ (d. 187) said:
“Whoever marries his beloved daughter to an innovator has cut off the ties of (her kinship) relationship with her.”
[Al-Barbahārī, An Explanation of the Creed, 137]
We, the people of the Sunnah are only interested in Ahl al-Sunnah. The wife is upon the religion of her husband, whatever her husband does she will do. Who would you give your beloved daughter to? The daughter you protected, nurtured and loved, would you want a mubtadiʿ or a fāsiq for her? A man who drinks, smokes, goes to dances, attends clubs, free mixes, shaves his beard, drags his garment below his ankles!? This is just a brief insight of what this talk is about!
