The following is another decisive article (in a series) against the Suroorees who claim that the major scholars are with them and that the major scholars are in support of their methodology. The Suroorees claim that they are not like the Khawārij in any way… the following is what Shaykh al-Albānī, the Muhaddith and Imām of this generation says about one of the individuals whom this movement refer to, known as Safar al-Ḥawālī:
O my brother, if you reviled me with every possible term of deficiency, your declaration of my deficiency would not reach the level of deficiency I have in my own eyes..
Ṣurūrī Lies Upon Shaykh Al-Albānī
Asked about the Book of ʿIrjā authored by Safar al-Ḥawālī, the Shaykh Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī said:
“Kitāb al-ʿIrjā [Safar al-Ḥawālī’s book]? Yes, I have seen it. When I was in the Jāmiʿ’ah in Medinah approximately 30 years ago, there occurred [some words] from me – and I was asked in a gathering about my opinion concerning Jamaa’at al-Tableegh. I said on that day [about them] ‘The Ṣūfīyyah of the Era’ (Ṣūfīyyah ʿAṣriyyah). And there is no danger if I say in relation to this Jamāʿah – those who have emerged at the present times and who have OPPOSED the Salaf – I say here in conformity with the words of al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Dhahabī that they have OPPOSED the Salaf in much of their manāhij (issues of methodology) therefore it is acceptable and obvious to me that I name them: The Khawārij of the Era (Khārijiyyat al-ʿAṣriyyah).” [*]

* Note: Dr. Safar al-Ḥawālī accuses Shaykh al-Albānī and His students of being Murjīʿah. This due to the fact that they do not perform takfīr of the ruler who changes or replaces the rule of Allāh with something else absolutely and they do not enjoin rebellion against the rulers who are oppressive against the Muslims. Watch this space for a destruction of the manhaj of Dr. Safar al-Ḥawālī from the most excellent piece of work ‘Madaarik un-Nadhar fis-Siyaasah’ by ʿAbd al Malik ibn Aḥmad ibn al-Mubārak al-Ramaḍānī al-Jazāʾirī with introductions from Shaykh al-Albānī and Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin al-Abbaad…
And if anyone wishes to contend with these articles, then their contention is not with us but rather with the major scholars… So throwing abuse at the brothers from Salafī Publications like Abū Talhah Dāwūd Burbank (who is the main translator) and Abū ʿIyyāḍ Amjad Rafīq (another translator) and Abū Khadījah ʿAbd al-Wāḥid will not benefit anyone. Rather what we bring is from the Book and the Sunnah and the great Imāms of the Salafī daʿwah And when Hamdūn ibn Aḥmad Abū Ṣāliḥ was spoken to in an ignorant manner, he remained silent and then said: “O my brother, if you reviled me with every possible term of deficiency – your declaration of my deficiency would not reach the level of deficiency I have in my own eyes.”
