The Advice of Ibn Bāz to Usamah bin Ladin and a Warning and Advice to Those Who Traverse His Path

Imām ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Bāz

The advice of the noble muftī of Saudi Arabia to takfīrī, khārijī ibn Ladin.

Said Shaykh al-Islām ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Ibn ʿAbdullāh Ibn Bāz (d. AH 1420) – raḥimahullāh, “So my advice to al-Masʿarī, al-Faqīḥ and Ibn Lādin and all those who traverse their way is to leave alone this disastrous path, and to fear Allāh and to beware of His revenge and His anger, and to return to guidance and to repent to Allāh from whatever has preceded from them.”

Imām ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Bāz (d. AH 1420)

Said Imām Abū Bakr al-Ājurrī (d.360H) – raḥimahullāh, “It is not permissible for the one who sees the uprising of a khārijī who has revolted against the leader, whether he is just or oppressive – so this person has revolted and gathered a group behind him, has pulled out his sword and has made lawful the killing of Muslims – it is not fitting for the one who sees this, that he becomes deceived by this person’s recitation of the Qurʾān, the length of his standing in Prayer, nor his constant fasting, nor his good and excellent words in knowledge when it is clear to him that this person’s way and methodology is that of the Khawārij.”

Said Shaykh al-Islām ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Ibn ʿAbdullāh Ibn Bāz (d.1420H) – raḥimahullāh, “So my advice to al-Mas’aree, al-Faqīḥ and ibn Ladin and all those who traverse their way is to leave alone this disastrous path, and to fear Allāh and to beware of His revenge and His anger, and to return to guidance and to repent to Allāh from whatever has preceded from them.”

A concise warning from Imām Ibn Bāz (raḥimahullāh) to Usāmah ibn Ladin. The extremist takfīree who rejoices in making takfīr mu’ayyin of the Scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah and the Muslim rulers all in the name of Islām. Bin Ladin’s disgusting, vermin-laden doctrine of mass takfīr was not excluded from even the eminent Imām Ibn Bāz (raḥimahullāh).
