The Objective to Water Down the Salafī Daʿwah to Facilitate Ahl al-Bidʿah

I say: There has come about in this time of ours, he who thinks that he is upon the methodology of the Salaf while in fact he is not. Rather, there is he who applies the name ‘al-Salafīyyah’ to the modern partisan groups of which some of them are upon the ideology of the Khawārij and think that the common denominator between them is al-Salafīyyah. This is as a result of an abundance of ignorance and the scarcity of knowledge, as Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah has said. Or it is that the objective is to water down the Da’watus-Salafīyyah which is predicated upon the Book and the authentic Sunnah, with the understanding of the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ so (as to facilitate) the entrance of the deviant groups into the realm of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah.
