From the beacons upon the path for the student of knowledge

• have taqwā (fear) of Allāh
• taqwá is only built upon ʿilm (knowledge)
• carry out the commands of Allāh
• stay away from the prohibitions of Allāh
• the Qurʾān and Sunnah are filled with admonitions towards taqwá
• taqwá is from the means of getting to paradise
• actions are accepted based on two conditions: ikhlās (إخلاص) wa-al-mutābʿāh (متابعة), sincerity upon the way of the Messenger (ﷺ)
• the believers are upon different levels in sincerity and piety
• cling to the guidance of the Salaf, at the head of them, the Companions of the Messenger (ﷺ), whoever opposes them will go to destruction
• be far removed from the people of innovation and desires, for innovation corrupts and destroys
• stay away from ḥizbiyyah (party spirt)
• be patient upon the truth even if you are few in number
• the blessings of Allāh are innumerable
