If this Ummah Will Undoubtedly Fall into Misguidance, What Is the Benefit of Calling to the Truth?
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728 AH) said:
Al-Bukhārī narrated from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “My Ummah will assuredly adopt the ways of the generations of the past. Step by step, handspan .” They [the Ṣaḥābah] said: “The Persians and the Romans?” He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) replied: “Who are the people except for them?”1
This was said as a way of informing them of the definite occurrence of such emulation, blaming those who adopt such behaviour. Just as he (صلى الله عليه وسلم) used to relate to them the ḥarām actions of mankind…

Rulings Related to Answering Wedding Invitations
[Q]: The saying of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in the ḥadīth: “If one of your brothers invites you, then answer his invitation whether it be a wedding or other than it,”1 what is meant by ‘your brother’ here? Should we answer the invitation of a religious innovator? Or the wedding invitation of a disbeliever who is among one’s close family or friends while that wedding consists of that which is shirk. Should one answer such an invitation or leave it?

The Attitude of Muʿādh ibn Jabal Towards His Death
Abū Naʿaym al-Aṣbahānī (d. 430 AH) said:
Muʿādh, Abū ʿUbaydah, Shuraḥbīl ibn Ḥasanah, and Abū Mālik al-Ashʿarī (رضي الله عنهم) were all stabbed in the same day [during battle]. Muʿādh said: “It represents but the mercy of your Lord–the Exalted in Might—and the invocation of your Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), and a means by which the souls of the righteous are taken. O Allāh! Give the family of Muʿādh the greatest allotment of this mercy.” The afternoon did not reach him except that his first-born son, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, was also stabbed, from whom he derived his kunyah—the most beloved person…

Rulings Related to Istiḥāḍah (Non-Menstrual Bleeding)
Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (d. 1421 AH) said:
The Ruling on Performing Wuḍūʾ for Every Ṣalāh
It is mustaḥabb for the woman experiencing istiḥāḍah (non-menstrual bleeding) to perform wuḍūʾ before every ṣalāh if she has experienced some secretion [after her last wuḍūʾ]. If, however, she has not experienced any secretions, she remains in a state of purity [from her first wuḍūʾ].1
Praying Nawāfil (Supererogatory) and Farḍ (Obligatory)
If the woman experiencing istiḥāḍah performed wuḍūʾ to pray nawāfil, she is also permitted to pray farḍ [with the same wuḍūʾ], as her performing ablut…

Those Who Oppose Revelation Have Imitated Iblīs
Shaykh Muḥammad Amīn al-Shanqīṭī (d. 1393 AH) said:
The saying of the Most High:
إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ
“Except Iblīs (Satan), he refused [to prostrate to Ādam] and was proud.”
(Al-Baqarah, 2:34)
The alleged reasoning for his arrogance is not clarified here. However, this is clarified in other places in the Qurʾān like His saying:
قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ
“Iblīs said: “I am better than him (Ādam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay.””
(Al-Aʿrāf, 7:12)
And in His saying:
قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ…
