The Culture of Arrogance and Entitlement That May Befool the Young Student
[Q]: What is your advice for those who belittle their elders in age? For example, they belittle a man who is upon the sunnah for thirty or fourty years but he does not know the Arabic language and he does not know from the Qurʾān except a little. So they would come back from al-Madīnah and belittle them by saying: “Look at them! They are 60 years of age and they do not comprehend the Arabic language.” They belittle them so that they can be raised in the sight of the people.

Following the Doubts of Ahl al-Bidʿah Eventually Leads to Joining Them
[Q]: How should we advise those who are impressed and trialed by these types of people (i.e. those who spread doubts in communities)?
[A]: They should be warned and informed that these people have speech which is in opposition to that which Ahl al-Sunnah are upon; they belittle the books of Ahl al-Sunnah and they speak ill of the dūʿāt of Ahl al-Sunnah. These are actions of the people of innovation, so if you accompany them, you would be treading the path of the people of innovation. Therefore O youth, do not accompany them, remain with the people of Sunnah who are pure.
