The Islām of The Prisoner of Rome
Shaykh Abū ʿUways
The Islām of the Prisoner of Rome is a brief khuṭbah given by our brother Abū ʿUways (raḥimahullāh) looking at the actions of the Companion ʿAbdullāh ibn Hudhayfah (raḍi Allāhu ʿanhu) when he was tested by the Roman ruler.
Living in a time where fitnah is widespread, we need to be directed with great leadership and light. Reminders of narrations such as these from amongst the stories of the Ṣaḥābah (raḍī Allāhu ʿanhum) who were nourished directly from the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) gives us such guidance to follow of pure īmān and being firmly rooted. Our brother Abū ʿUways (raḥimahullāh) gives us the story of the Prisoner of Rome, ʿAbdullāh Ibn Hudhafah (raḍī Allāhu ʿanhu) being tested in a time of fitnah, sticking firm to his religion and not compromising it for any of the worldy affairs.
