Who Is a Good Companion?
It is reported that Sufyān al-Thawrī (Allāh have mercy upon him) said: There is nothing that corrupts a person or rectifies him more than [his] companions. (Ibn Baṭṭah, Al-Ibānah al-Kubraa, article 504)
Points of Benefit:
The believers love the righteous and seek to accompany them
There are shayateen from amongst the humans and jinns who are bad companions
It is too late, in the aakhirah, to rectify bad companionship

Tribes and Tribalism, Nations and Nationalism
O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allāh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwá [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious – see V.2:2). Verily, Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

Be Mindful of Allāh and He Will Protect You
أحفظ الله يحفظك- Be mindful of Allāh and he will protect you

Fulfill the pillars and obligations of Islām
Safeguard your prayer – it will protect you from evil
Safeguard your tongue from evil – the Angels are recording
Control your eyes – lower your gaze, protect your private parts
