Let the reader compare the approach to daʿwah of the late Imām of Yemen, Muqbil Ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī (رحمه الله), in comparison with the likes of Abū Usamah and those whom he praises, who line up alongside people of innovation and ḥizbiyyah, praising them and being silent about their innovation. It is permissible, rather, it is obligatory to speak about the people of innovation and to warn against them and their innovation, individually or as a group. [This includes] those from the past as well as the present, from the Khawārij, the Rawāfiḍ, the Jahmiyyah, the Murjī’ah, the Karāmiyyah, and the people of kalām (theological rhetoric) — those who the knowledge of kalām has dragged them to corrupt beliefs like negation of [all of] Allāh’s attributes or some of them. [Q]: “O Shaykh! Do we warn against them without mentioning their good qualities for example, or do we mention their good qualities and their bad (qualities)?”
[A]: If you mention their good qualities, then you have called to them. No, do not mention their good qualities — mention the error which they are upon only. For you are not responsible for studying their deeds or evaluating their personalities.
