A Clarification of Some Common Doubts and Misconceptions Affiliated with the Month of Ramaḍān, as Clarified by Some of Our Noble Scholars
Verily, the Book, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the scholars have all affirmed the fact that enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is something incumbent upon at least a portion of the Ummah.

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ ۚوَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِح…
Allāh the Mighty and Majestic has said in His Magnificent Book:

This Ḥadīth consists of a few words, as is characteristic of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) sayings, but it has much meaning and blessings. The Prophet (ﷺ) used few words in his statements so it would be easy for his Companions to memorise what he said.

Our noble brother discusses the importance of īmān and its branches based on a very beautiful ḥadīth from the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ), collected by Bukhārī and Muslim. This ḥadīth regarding the branches of faith is narrated by Abū Hurayrah (raḍi Allāhu ʿanhu), in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, who said that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “Īmān is sixty odd branches.” In Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, there is a slight differing in wording in where it is narrated that he (ﷺ) said, “Īmān is 70 odd branches…the highest of which is the statement ‘Lā ilāha illā Allāh,’ and the lowest of its branches is removing…
The Sunnah unifies; it is coupled with coming together just as bidʿah is coupled with disunity and splitting.
The Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said, “Islām began as something strange and it shall return to being something strange so give glad tidings to the strangers.” When we gather together upon the same manhaj and ʿaqīdah, regardless if we know each other or not, we feel like brothers (and sisters) and like we’ve known each other for years.
